Since its inception in 2005-2006, eLearning at Assumption University has proved to be beneficial to education, to Thailand’s public and private sector. Digital learning has become an essential component of Thai economy. One of the major advantage of eLearning is that it provides access to resources to anyone from anywhere at any time. With instant connection to the Internet it provides fast access to all study materials while working in an office,  at home, on the road, 24 hours a day, and 7 days a week. High quality education thus, is available to everyone as and when needed. During the last 10 years of its existence the Graduate School of eLearning (GSeL) has created several successful and high quality programs which have made eLearning affordable and accessible to Thai students, students from ASEAN and many other foreign countries.

In the last 10 years GSeL has also achieved remarkable reputation for high quality research programs. Most notably, it has gone from 2 Masters Degree program to 5, including 2 PhD programs taught by highly qualified faculty from Thailand and around the world. GSeL is now in its next decade of growth and is increasingly emphasizing research and innovative cooperation with several local and international organizations. To accomplish this goal it is launching Assumption University-eJournal of Interdisciplinary Research (AU-eJIR). This new on-line journal seeks to promote original research and cultivate fruitful dialogues among academics, researchers and graduate students.

It gives me great pleasure to congratulate GSeL faculty and staff who have been working hard to launch this biannual journal. I wish good luck to Managing Editor Dr. Kuldeep Nagi  as he moves on to a new challenge.
